Yesterday was a great day to take a wander down to the botanical gardens at Coffs Harbour. The weather was perfect - light clouds giving good light all day for photographing. Everyone spent a few hours taking the various paths - some had to fend off the mozzies ( mangrove walk) while others felt and smelled their way through the sensory garden.

The resident koi were a little shy and the ducks decided to hide behind the island in the first pond. However down near the Japanese Garden there was plenty of birdlife with the odd kookaburra along the paths. Of course the cheeky minor birds were trying to share our lunch.

There were some very interesting plants with unusual flowers and fruits so plenty for everyone to photograph whether you were after flowers or textures. It was great to make time to pick up the camera and just wander around after such a busy few weeks - everywhere I looked there was something else that caught my eye.

Ted E Bear went on his inaugural outing this year and is likely to feature in a few others - you never know what he will get up to. (Thanks Bev for the photo)

And lets not forget the amazing sunset on the way home - I hope someone stopped to photograph it!
